How do orthotics work?

  • Orthotics are usually prescribed after a comprehensive assessment, and are created to address various symptoms you may be experiencing.

  • Custom Orthotics are much more than a shoe insert, or heal lifts/pads that you can purchase at a sports store or over-the-counter at a pharmacy or grocery store.

  • They are highly customized, and specific to your feet and lifestyle as to effect change in posture, pain and dysfunction of your joints.

Some of the Goals for Custom Orthotics may be:

  • Address/improve upon acute/chronic muscular or ligamentous injuries in the foot, or legs

  • To improve foot, or ankle function

  • To correct foot, or ankle deformities

  • To help reduce pain or discomfort in the foot, ankle, knees, hips, pelvis or back

  • To help reduce the risk of further injuries
