Continuing Education:

Dr. Gina has a special interest in treating the following:

Digestive Disorders

The digestive system responsible for breaking down, assimilating and excreting the food we ingest, therefore its function is a direct reflection of our nutrient status and overall health. Did you know that our digestive system holds ~ 70% of the body’s immune system? A health gut means a healthy defense.

Common conditions treated:

Irritable bowel syndrome, heartburn, gas/bloating, diarrhea, constipation

Women’s Health

The female system is in a delicate balance and is constantly transitioning from menarche to menopause. By supporting the body throughout these times, symptoms are not a concern and we can focus on enjoying life.

Common conditions treated:

Menstrual concerns: irregular periods, PMS, hormone related acne

Menopausal symptoms

PCOS

Endometriosis

Fibroids

Infertility

Pregnancy and lactation

Urinary tract infections, interstitial cystitis, chronic yeast infections

Hormone Balancing

The hormone systems of the body are greatly dependant and affected by each other. If one system is thrown off it can create a variety of symptoms. When hormones are thrown out of balance, a variety of symptoms may occur including:

Changes in metabolism –which controls body temperature and weight and water retention

Fluctuations in energy levels, mood and ability to cope with stress

Changes in sleep patterns

Digestive disturbance

Low libido

Infertility

Dr. Gina looks at how all the hormone systems are working together including thyroid, adrenal and sex hormones. Hormone testing may be performed via saliva, urine or blood. Hormone treatments may include botanical (plant medicine), nutrients, glandulars or prescriptive hormone creams.

Allergies and Sensitivities

The immune system plays a pivotal role in how we respond to our environment and the foods we consume.  An important aspect of treating allergies and sensitivities is supporting and balancing the immune system.

Environmental Allergens

Testing is available through Dr. Gina – via skin prick testing.

If allergies are uncovered, options for treatment includes sublingual immunotherapy and immune system and other supportive therapies.

Food Allergies and Sensitivities

Testing is available through Dr. Lani – Blood spot testing for 96 foods including IgE and IgG.

Treatment often includes avoidance of food sensitivities and allergies, digestive system healing and immune system support.
