Laser Therapy Treatments

What is Laser therapy?

  • Light-based therapy

  • Targets inflamed and injured tissues

  • Non-invasive

  • Pain-free

Benefits of Laser therapy include:

  • Improved healing time

  • Formation of capillaries (blood vessels)

  • Improved blood and lymph flow

  • Improved tensile strength of tissues

  • Decreased pain

  • Decreased inflammation

  • Decreased swelling

How does Laser therapy work?

Laser Therapy exposes the cells of the body to light, and particular wavelengths of light are able to produce photochemical reactions, stimulating the cells of the body into producing more energy. This increase in energy levels allows the cells to work more effectively in properly balancing the cellular components, so that the cells can function properly. The laser light functions as biochemical energy and improves the efficiency of the body’s healing capabilities. The result is that the body is able to heal itself in a shorter period of time.

Laser therapy acts to increase cell metabolism which leads to increased collagen growth and the formation of capillaries. Laser therapy also increases pain thresholds via the release of endorphins and serotonin.

Conditions commonly treated with Laser therapy:

  • Acute/Chronic muscular or ligamentous injuries

  • Repetitive strain injuries

  • Rotator cuff tears

  • Carpal tunnel syndrome

  • Achilles tendonitis

  • Plantar fasciitis

  • Osteoarthritis

  • Rheumatoid Arthritis

  • Bursitis

  • Fibromyalgia
